Ayar Labs
Ayar Labs has developed the world’s first CPU chip to communicate with light using the most sophisticated electronic-photonic system ever demonstrated. The Company is replacing copper with optical I/O made from silicon chips to improve speed and energy efficiency in computing by removing bottlenecks in moving data. The technology enables very dense packing of light communication ports on a chip, enabling massive total bandwidth. It is able to do so through multiple parallel data streams encoded on different colors of light that can be sent over the same medium.
